Emily is a Psychologist who is passionate, warm, empathetic and non-judgemental. Emily prides herself on being collaborative, evidence-based and goal-focused, but also enjoying providing new perspectives to clients in a compassionate and gentle way. In her experience this allows for a safe space that creates growth and confidence. She is experienced providing evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. These therapy models have been shown to be effective for Depression, Anxiety, Panic, trauma, poor Sleep as well as ongoing problems in relationships. Exposure and Response Prevention therapy is known as the gold standard treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Health Anxiety. Emily has experience in community mental health and family and community services, supporting people across the lifespan. Her experience has predominantly focused on the mental health of regional and rural communities, including Geelong, and is one of her greatest passions. Emily creates a clear plan so that people can feel better and uses evidence-based skills and strategies to help improve their lives. Emily is qualified with a Masters of Clinical Psychology.

Emily’s expertise

Emily ensures in a first session people know they have come to the right place. She helps clients make sense of their problems and creates a clear plan on how to feel better. Emily uses Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to ask for information every session to adjust treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. She does not provide a box for clients to fit in, she adjusts treatment to fit her clients.

Emily is passionate about improving the mental health of all Australians, no matter their age or stage of life. I enjoy supporting clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder.

Emily leads the Multidisciplinary Care Project that aims to create better communication between Psychology Outcomes and GP’s across Geelong. Enabling clients not to continually retell their stories she supports the team to organise routine phone calls to GP’s so they are up-to-date with treatment and can provide the best quality care when clients are not in therapy. It is her hope that this will create the best possible results for all clients attending therapy at Psychology Outcomes.

Outside of therapy, Emily is usually doing something active, whether it's running, swimming or pilates. She is a big music and sports fan as well as experiencing new cafes and restaurants in the Geelong area.
